  48. 1.  Use the scroll bars at the side of the card(s) to scroll up and down.

  50. 2.  If a command features a hyphenated command such as: COMMAND-SHIFT-3, you are to hold down the Command, Shift, and 3 keys simultaneously.

  52. 3.  You can add your own information to the stacks.  If you add information to the stacks be sure to Compact Stack.  First go to the User Preferences Card and set your user level to scripting.  Then launch the stack you wish to compact.  I have noticed that the stacks tend to grow with use and/or adding information.  Those of you running HyperCard on floppy disks may run out of room more rapidly than you realize so it is a good idea to Compact Stack now and then.  As far as I can tell password protected stacks do not grow.

  54. 4.  Hit the Home (castle) button to go back to the Home card. 
  55. (You must have the Browse tool, the "hand" from the Tools menu, selected.)

  57. 5.  If you hit the NEW button and did not wish to create a new card, pull down the Edit menu and select  Cut Card.

  59. 6.  If you wish to flip rapidly through the cards in a stack, click on the Quick View button located next to the Home (castle button).

  63. 8.  MacHelp stacks, nos.1, 2, 3, and 4.  For those of you not using MultiFinder here are several good ways for you to utilize the tips that appear in the MacHelp stack series without having to memorize, print, or write them down.  Select the tip, copy it to the clipboard, return to the Finder, launch your application, and paste the tip into the application's document.  Or, you can store the tips in your scrapbook and call them up when you are in an application.  Better yet purchase a desk accessory such as  Blyth's Smart Pad.  Smart Pad is like Apple's notepad, but it can search and scroll.  Copy all of the tips you will be using in Word, for example, to one page in Smart Pad.  Now, when you need to see a tip about Word, select Smart Pad from under the Apple menu and when Smart Pad's dialog box comes up type "Word" (without quotes, of course) and Smart Pad will find the one "note" with all of your Word tips on it.  Select the tip you need and paste it into your document for reference (if you can't remember it).
